Senior Model-Based Systems Engineer

About the Role. G2 Ops supports mission-critical defense and technology initiatives by solving complex operational and engineering challenges. We are seeking a Mid- to Senior-Level Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Engineer to support the PAE Mission Systems (MS) Chief Engineer (CHENG) 52200 Digital Engineering effort. This position will support the development, implementation, documentation, and sustainment of Digital Engineering and MBSE standards, processes, environments, and products across PAE Mission Systems.

The successful candidate will work directly with Government stakeholders, engineering teams, and Program Executive Offices (PEOs) to mature MBSE implementation, improve model consistency and interoperability, and expand the use of model-based approaches across engineering activities.

Prior professional experience applying MBSE methodologies and tools is required for this position.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, maintain, and update NAVWAR and PAE Mission Systems MBSE policies, standards, guidance, and implementation documentation, including the MBSE Implementation Guide, Model Style Guide, modeling guidance, training materials, and implementation resources.
  • Document and support the Digital Engineering environment, including tools, repositories, architectures, interfaces, workflows, and processes; support enterprise capabilities and environments such as IME, NDE, and related Navy DE initiatives.
  • Define and maintain data elements, relationships, schemas, information requirements, Navy Model Catalog content, Baseline Configuration Lists (BCLs), Interface Definitions (IDs), and other technical documentation supporting Digital Engineering use cases, lifecycle events, and engineering functionality.
  • Review and support changes managed through Digital Engineering Configuration Management (CM) processes and evaluate emerging modeling standards, enterprise architecture frameworks, model-based product-line engineering capabilities, and Digital Engineering integration opportunities.
  • Apply MBSE methodologies to improve engineering collaboration, information reuse, traceability, communication, and workflow efficiency, while assisting teams with modeling questions, standards interpretation, and implementation barriers.
  • Collaborate with PEOs, engineering organizations, Technical Warrant Holders, MBSE, software-development, cyber, engineering, and Government teams to resolve technical issues and support consistent Digital Engineering and MBSE implementation and adoption.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated professional MBSE experience with working knowledge of systems engineering principles, lifecycle processes, and model-based engineering methodologies.
  • Experience developing and maintaining system models using Cameo Systems Modeler / MagicDraw or comparable SysML-based tools, and translating engineering requirements and stakeholder needs into structured models, data requirements, workflows, and technical documentation.
  • Experience developing technical standards, engineering guidance, implementation documentation, or similar technical products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary technical teams and communicate technical concepts to engineering practitioners and leadership.
  • Ability to independently manage technical assignments, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive deliverables to completion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting NAVWAR, PEOs, Naval acquisition programs, or Department of the Navy engineering organizations, including familiarity with NAVWAR Digital Engineering and MBSE policies, standards, and processes.
  • Experience with SysML, model governance, model configuration management, model quality/style standards, data schemas, model catalogs, Digital Engineering ecosystems, or authoritative data environments.
  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering environments, PLM concepts, enterprise architecture, Digital Thread implementations, engineering lifecycle events, technical reviews, or acquisition-program systems engineering activities.
  • Experience developing MBSE training, implementation guides, modeling standards, or organizational adoption strategies.

Compensation & Benefits. The annual salary range for this position is $115,000 - $175,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
